I just finished a swap I found on swap dex...one of my favorite sites. We had to find something for each of the letters in the word "friends". I was paired with a woman from Sweden, one of my sons favorite places on earth. I hope she liked what I sent. These are my things I received from her. She does beautiful work. The shawl is so delicate and wonderful. The knitted dishcloth is even a work of art. I just loved it all....the needle case, the dog coin purse, fat quarters and red things and the delicious candy bar. Thanks so much to a wonderful partner.

oops!
I found my lost post so sorry you get double duty on a couple of things. I'll try to keep up better.
catching up!
All I ever seem to do is catch up. Time flies by so fast and a month has gone by then two or three. Here's what I've been up to.
My quilt got Reserve Grand Champion at the County Fair!
I submitted this one and got accepted to teach it at the Cedar city Quilt Retreat next January. I'm excited. I love that retreat. This one is done in Dr. Suess fabric.
I've sat through track meets. Here's Pace in the center. He did a great job this year. One more year of high school for him.
Tanner graduated from high school. Can't we made it through. He has been fun and involved in everything but school.
This is where he spends most of his time.....Out saving the world. I have to remind him sometimes to come home.
Gotta get back to quilting. I'll have to get a pix of the mountains of quilts I have to bind. Yuck. My least favorite part.

Trying again
I wrote a long update a few weeks ago and lost it so I'll try again. It has been a busy spring and summer so far.
I sat through track meets. Pace is the one in the center with the blue and white shirt.
Tanner graduated high school. Yes, I made it through another one!
My quilt took reserve grand champion at the county fair. it was so not my usual color scheme but I'm calling it Desert Sunrise.
I got a few others done as well.......

Its the middle of March!
Can't believe how time flies. I'll look at my pix and see what I've been doing.
St. thomas is a town that was covered by Lake Mead when Hoover dam was built. the settlers had to leave it all in the mid 1930's. Because of the drought it is uncovered right now. You can walk the streets and see the building foundations. Even the trees (dead) that had lined the main street. We had a big celebration down there a couple of weeks ago. The two boys were part of a 10 mile handcart trek that the youth did that came down into St. Thomas. they had short dramas about the history of the town. Tom and I were in one of those and I helped organize the entertainment for the day. Here we are decked out for the occasion. We are standing inside the school foundation.
Here I'm leading the music for the opening ceremony. Connie Whitney is accompanying on an old pump organ that was played at the ceremonies held there in 1956 when the lake was down then. You can see the walls of the school foundation.
Got my quilts done that I took the classes for at the retreat.
I forgot to rotate it, My daughter in law's sister asked Pace to be her escort for the dance teams annual dance revue. They had to do a waltz at the end and they did great. I'm not biased but they were the best!
I took Tanner to see Donny and Marie at the Flamingo. He loved it. It was a great show and different from the last time I saw them. Tanner has learned to just stand by the posters and let me take the pix.
Our son Zach made the paper. He's that handsome policeman.

Oops!
I took a tumble in the backyard Friday afternoon. We were all out working in the yard and I just fell over. My glasses hit and broke and dug out my cheek. I hit the paver steps. Tom took me to Mesquite to the emergency room. Waste of time! I did get a cat scan to see if I broke any facial bones. all clear. So if I didn't have a round enough face, now I'm swollen. Oh, well. my tetanus shot is now up to date and good for 10 years.
